Rapid Response can also offer guidance on state and federal notification requirements, including the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.
How the Rapid Response Process Works: Whether you’re a small business or a large corporation, the MassHire Rapid Response team is equipped to assist with workforce reductions. They offer tailored support to help you navigate transitions smoothly, from individual departments to entire worksites.
When notified of a layoff or closure, they will: Contact company officials to arrange a meeting and establish a collaborative partnership; Provide detailed information about their available services; Work with you to plan the effective implementation of these services within your organizations.
They aim to accommodate your needs by scheduling meetings and services according to the results of our brief company survey and your specific operational requirements.
The WorkShare program offers a way for companies covered by the unemployment insurance system to manage employee hours in coordination with unemployment benefits. It enables employers to rehire furloughed employees and hire new ones on a reduced-hours basis, encouraging a return to work. Both new hires and returning employees receive unemployment benefits to supplement their part-time wages.
